About Westchester United Methodist Church

A Reconciling Congregation

What is a Reconciling Congregation?

A Reconciling Congregation is a United Methodist local church that makes a public statement welcoming all persons, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, to participate fully in its congregational life.  In addition to local churches, many campus ministries, annual conferences and other United Methodist groups have adopted "reconciling" statements.

Many local church and Christian leaders are public about their anti-gay actions and statements. Reconciling Congregations must be public about their desire to be in ministry with gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered persons.

Who We Are

We are a spiritual community in the Christian Tradition.

You’re welcome here if you’re just visiting, just woke up, or just got out of jail. We don’t care if you’re more Catholic than the Pope or more Methodist than John Wesley, or if you never stepped foot into a church before.

Westchester United Methodist Church is an open, affirming congregation that welcomes people of all ages, races, sexual orientations, gender identities and political persuasions.

Being New Can be Awkward ... we are here to make your first visit a great experience!

Our worship celebration begins at 10am every Sunday. When you walk in you will be greeted and handed a program with the service for the day and sometime information about our community or happenings. You are welcome to sit wherever you are most comfortable.

We’re a casual group. You will see people in church with t-shirts and others with more professional or formal attire. Wear whatever’s comfortable. We don’t need to dress up for God.

Children and infants are always welcome in our church!

Our worship celebrations are a combination of traditional and contemporary styles - we have a variety of music, some services feature music from piano and organ, and others feature our worship band.  We incorporate the use of sacred and secular music to create a dynamic and meaningful worship experience.

Our sanctuary is wheelchair accessible.
